FestiCafé 2025 to highlight Polo’s organic coffee
Polo, Barahona.- The municipality of Polo is set to host the 17th edition of the Organic Coffee Festival (FestiCafé 2025) on October 24–26, a celebration that reinforces the region’s rich coffee-growing tradition while promoting international collaboration and sustainable development.
This year’s edition will feature a strong focus on coffee production and innovation, with exhibitions from local and international producers, keynote lectures, and expert panels on sustainability, market expansion, and technology. The festival aims to showcase the exceptional quality of Polo’s organic coffee, strengthen its production chain, and expand its global reach. Costa Rica will participate as the guest country, while San José de Ocoa will be honored as the special guest province, fostering ties between coffee-growing communities and sharing successful practices.
Dedicated posthumously to Luisa Feliz (Mamá Gueda)—a beloved community leader and one of the festival’s founders—FestiCafé 2025 will also feature music and cultural performances celebrating her legacy. Supported by the Presidency of the Republic, INDOCAFÉ, FEDA, and various local institutions, the event positions Polo and the Enriquillo region as a national and international reference for organic coffee, culture, and sustainability.
