MINERD confirms return to classes across the country

Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Education (MINERD) announced that classes will resume nationwide this Tuesday, following the temporary suspension caused by Hurricane Melissa. After assessments conducted across the country in coordination with emergency agencies, authorities confirmed that conditions are safe for a gradual and orderly return to classrooms.

MINERD reported that technical teams continue working in schools affected by the storm to restore optimal conditions as soon as possible. The ministry will also maintain close monitoring in provinces still facing access issues or infrastructure damage, implementing specific measures with local education districts.

The ministry urged students, teachers, and families to resume academic activities with enthusiasm, reaffirming that education is a national priority and a shared responsibility. It also expressed solidarity with the families affected by the hurricane and reiterated its commitment to ensuring the continuity of learning across the country.
