Raquel Peña delivers aid to flood-affected residents in Samaná
Samaná.- Vice President Raquel Peña has directed immediate assistance for residents impacted by recent heavy rains in Samaná, emphasizing a dual approach to relief and recovery efforts. During her visit to the flood-affected province, she announced plans to accelerate government actions to address the crisis.
Peña outlined a two-pronged contingency program starting December 25. The first phase focuses on providing urgent aid to directly affected individuals, while the second phase involves long-term efforts such as rebuilding homes and restoring communication routes. Joint interventions will address immediate needs while structural repairs are underway.
Assuring families of continued government support, Peña reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to working closely with the community to mitigate the effects of the persistent rains that have impacted Samaná in recent months.
