DIGECAC restores Puerto Plata Tourist Corridor

Puerto Plata.- The General Directorate for the Beautification of Highways and Ring Roads (DIGECAC) has launched a revitalization project along the Gregorio Luperón Tourist Corridor, located on the Sosúa–Puerto Plata highway, aiming to restore the charm of this key tourism route. The initiative included extensive landscaping efforts, such as the planting of ornamental plants—bromeliads, palms, crotos, violets, trinitarias, and more—to reinvigorate the area’s natural beauty and enhance its appeal for both local and international visitors.
Supervised personally by DIGECAC Director Rodolfo Valera Grullón, the work also involved pruning, waste removal, and the installation of a green point for environmental maintenance. Valera emphasized that the landscaping redesign across from Playa Dorada is part of a broader strategy to return the site to its former splendor.
