“Resortainment”, the new Caribbean tourism concept created by Escarrer

Meliá Hotels Internacional developed “Resortainment,” a new Caribbean tourism concept aimed at tourists who have evolved their vacationing habits since Covid-19, as their hotel booking preferences have changed. They are now looking for more than just a sustainable hotel; they want to have life experiences they will remember for the rest of their lives. The CEO of the Spanish hotel chain, Gabriel Escarrer, explained that it is a concept “that we call resortainment,” the result of merging the experience of a holiday hotel with excellent service with a cutting-edge theme, shopping, and leisure park under the Falcons brand. “Undoubtedly, the demand is evolving, and the sector must respond to their expectations.”

The resort’s new concept includes immersive and interactive entertainment elements and technologies, and it opened its new hotel, Falcon’s Resort by Meliá, All Suites Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic, after renovating the Paradisus Grand Punta Cana.

That is why Hernán Parra Contreras, director of Leisure Sales Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay at Meliá Hotels International Cono Sur, said that “at Falcon’s Resorts by Meliá, we create experiences and memories that our guests will treasure for a lifetime. This brand provides casual yet sophisticated entertainment that goes above and beyond what other hotels offer.”
