Bohío magazine unveils its latest issue at FITUR 2025

Madrid.- Ediciones Cabrer, represented by its Executive Director, Reynaldo Caminero, has launched the latest edition of Bohío magazine at FITUR 2025. Founded in 1966, Bohío is recognized as the pioneer of Dominican tourism media. The cover of this milestone edition features José Mármol, Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications, Reputation, and Responsible Banking at Grupo Popular.

FITUR 2025 opened its doors with a record-breaking participation of 156 countries (11 more than last year), 101 official delegations (five more than the previous edition), and over 9,500 participating companies, marking an increase of 500. Brazil, this year’s partner country, brings a vibrant showcase of its cultural and natural richness to entice global travelers.

In the editorial, Caminero reflects on the significance of featuring a cultural treasure such as the Taíno Cultural Center, Casa del Cordón, through the eloquent and masterful voice of José Mármol. “His words do not merely describe this iconic space; they transport readers to its corridors, as if they were walking alongside him, listening to his narration,” Caminero writes.

The Executive Director of Bohío further praises Mármol, describing him as a noble figure whose insights connect Dominican identity’s past, present, and future. “It is a privilege to have him on the cover of this edition. His leadership and dedication serve as a beacon for our society, much like the Grupo Popular, the ‘bank of tourism,’ which he so brilliantly represents,” Caminero adds.

The magazine’s latest issue includes contributions from leading voices in the tourism sector. Enrique De Marchena Kaluche shares his expertise on emerging trends in Dominican tourism, while Abelardo Melgen Acra and Miguelina Butron explore the growing impact of short-term vacation rentals and the critical role of effective management. For foreign investors eyeing opportunities in the Dominican Republic, attorney María Abreu offers practical advice to ensure a smooth integration process.

Highlighting the issue are interviews with two prominent hoteliers: Yudit García, General Manager of JW Marriott Hotel Santo Domingo, and Luis Emilio Gómez García, General Manager of Hyatt Centric Santo Domingo. Both discuss their career journeys, insights into the hospitality industry, and their commitment to delivering excellence.

Celebrating milestones, Bohío also honors the 50th anniversary of Casa de Campo Resort, a world-renowned luxury destination that has elevated the Dominican Republic’s global standing in tourism. “We proudly join in congratulating Casa de Campo for half a century of excellence, showcasing the very best of Dominican luxury,” Caminero concludes.

With its insightful articles and sector expertise, Bohío magazine continues to be a trusted guide for professionals and travelers alike, proudly promoting the Dominican Republic as a premier global destination.
