Infotep certifies 97 technicians working at Meliá Punta Cana

Bávaro.- The National Institute for Technical and Professional Training (Infotep) awarded full-time technical certifications to 97 employees of the Meliá Hotels chain in the areas of Gastronomy, Bar and Restaurant, and Hotel Floor Management. The recognition came after the employees completed the Occupational Evaluation process, which validates work experience and acquired skills.

At the ceremony, Infotep’s Business Competitiveness Director, Raysa Pichardo, highlighted that between 2020 and 2025, more than 4,130 Meliá employees have received training through 260 programs, reinforcing the tourism sector’s workforce.

Graduates included 42 in Gastronomy, 31 in Bar and Restaurant, and 24 in Hotel Floor Management. Representing them, Ubaldo Natera, bar captain at Meliá Punta Cana Beach, shared his story of overcoming personal challenges through training. Infotep reaffirmed its commitment to continue offering programs that strengthen human capital, noting that in the Bávaro–Punta Cana region alone, more than 134,000 people have been trained since 2020.
