Puerto Plata to reach 81 cruise arrivals in December 2025

Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) announced that Puerto Plata is set to achieve a historic milestone in December 2025, with 81 cruise ship arrivals, strengthening the Amber Coast’s position as one of the Caribbean’s fastest-growing destinations.

The official schedule shows 53 ships docking at Taino Bay and 28 at Amber Cove, reflecting rising demand from major international cruise lines. According to Yokasta Almonte, head of the Mitur office in Puerto Plata, these numbers highlight cruise companies’ confidence in the destination, its strong safety standards, and the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to improving tourist services and experiences.

With this performance, Puerto Plata closes the year as a regional leader in the cruise industry and the top destination in the northern region.
