However, during an interview on Haitian radio station Radio Télé Métronome, Dupuy, Haiti’s foreign minister, countered that airspace access should be extended to all citizens, not just officials. She emphasized that Haitian authorities should not enjoy privileges unavailable to the general population.

Dupuy asserted, “Any request for reopening must apply to all citizens, without exception. The Haitian authorities cannot benefit from a privilege to which the Haitian people have no access.” She further stated that “the reopening of the border between Haiti and the Dominican Republic should not be subject to negotiations.”

Dominique Dupuy, if you do not want privileges that your people do not have access to, how come Haiti have not been able to eradicate corruption and poverty? Do not make me cry for your new found sensitivity.

What Haiti eradicates or not should be of no concern to dominicans. Haiti needs to close the border and close its embassy in DR. There is no need to continue this nonsensical relationship.

Yes, close the border. No more Haitian men working illegally in the Dominican Republic. No more Haitian women giving birth for free in Dominican public hospitals. No more Haitian children studying for free in Dominican schools. No more visas for Haitians to work and study in the DR.

This lady is a total clown. Haiti’s elite class owns more than 80% of the country’s wealth while the average Haitian citizen gets by with the absolute bare minimum living in atrocious inhumane conditions. Now all of a sudden, Ms. Dupuy and her political colleagues want to project an image of solidarity and compassion for her compatriots who don’t share equal privileges?…. Nice joke.
