Haiti requires $120 million for elections

Port-au-Prince.- Haitian Prime Minister Garry Conille announced on Thursday that Haiti will need approximately $120 million dollars to organize general elections, review the Constitution, and implement necessary constitutional reforms.

“We estimate that around $120 million will be needed to finance the process, but we are confident we can mobilize those resources,” Conille stated in a national address marking his first 100 days in office.

He further explained that, with the support of governments and international partners, a common fund has been established to finance the elections. “Haiti has already contributed more than a third of the required amount to ensure the revision of the Constitution and to take significant steps toward holding the elections,” the Prime Minister added.

What a joke. Will be back in same situation shortly after elections. Won’t solve anything.

as if there so strapped for cash.. they want others to fund it so those at the top can keep their millions!
