Dominican Week launched this Monday in Spain

Madrid.- The Dominican Week Foundation, with support from the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the Dominican Republic and the Dominican Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and MSMEs, launched the first Dominican Week in Spain (SEDE) in Madrid. SEDE aims to deepen business and cultural ties between the Dominican Republic and Spain, presenting investment opportunities in sectors beyond tourism, including healthcare, education, infrastructure, and energy. Manuel García Troncoso, SEDE president, emphasized the Dominican Republic’s expanding investment landscape and highlighted projects like the new Puerto Rico-Dominican Republic ferry by Spanish company Balearia.

Running across several venues in Madrid, SEDE’s program includes conferences on topics like the Dominican economy, free trade zones, AI, and investment. Cultural events will showcase Dominican heritage, featuring rum and cigar tastings and honors for prominent members of the Dominican diaspora. Hosted at iconic locations like the Fundación MAPFRE, Palacio Santoña, and Casa América, SEDE aims to create a collaborative platform for public and private sectors to explore growth, trade, and international cooperation opportunities, celebrating shared cultural ties and economic interests between the Dominican Republic and Spain.
