Haitian Prime Minister unveils plan for peaceful transition

Haiti.- Haitian Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils Aimé has announced a comprehensive action plan aimed at ensuring a peaceful and structured transition in the country, aligning with the objectives of the April 3, 2024, Political Agreement. The plan, outlined in a Circular Letter to government ministries, focuses on five key areas: security, economic recovery, justice, constitutional reform, and democratic elections.

The immediate priorities include strengthening national security to restore public order, promoting infrastructure rehabilitation (such as repairing roads, hospitals, and schools), conducting a participatory national conference for constitutional reforms, fighting corruption, and organizing transparent elections to re-establish democratic legitimacy. The plan emphasizes inclusive governance, encouraging participation from all sectors of society, including the Haitian diaspora.

Prime Minister Aimé called for collaboration between ministries, the private sector, and international partners to turn these commitments into tangible actions, aiming to meet the expectations of the Haitian people and lay the foundation for sustainable development. She also stressed the importance of unity and action for the successful realization of Haiti’s transition.

Plans are vacant unless they are enforced and used. Unfortunately, the only plan in Haiti working is the one labeled “chaos”.
