Abinader highlights the transformative role of global cooperation in the Dominican Republic

Qatar.- President Luis Abinader of the Dominican Republic emphasized the critical role of international cooperation in the nation’s evolution from a recipient to a dual contributor and manager of cooperative initiatives. Speaking at the “Doha Forum” in Qatar, he underscored that cooperation is central to the Dominican Republic’s foreign policy and its efforts to strengthen international relations, particularly in trade and investment.
Abinader credited the country’s success to political and social stability, public-private sector synergy, and strategic policies promoting key sectors like tourism, which he highlighted as a driver of economic growth and international recognition. From 2020 to 2023, the Dominican Republic engaged in 107 cooperation exchanges with nations such as Colombia, Chile, and Peru, focusing on sustainable development priorities including climate change, justice, gender equity, and education.
Acknowledging global challenges like ideological divides and geopolitical tensions, Abinader stressed that cooperation is not only viable but essential. He reaffirmed the Dominican Republic’s commitment to fostering collaborative efforts as a pathway to addressing global inequalities and achieving sustainable progress.
