Air Europa expands through new partnership, including Dominican Republic routes
Santo Domingo.- Air Europa has partnered with Scandinavian airline SAS to expand its network to Sweden, Denmark, and Norway, adding 20 new routes to its offerings. The agreement enables connections between Madrid-Barajas and destinations in Portugal, Morocco, Brazil, and the Dominican Republic, including Punta Cana and Santo Domingo.
Starting in May, Air Europa will also launch daily flights between Madrid and Istanbul on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, offering over 247,000 seats in 2025 with an estimated 80% occupancy. This route strengthens connections between Spain and Turkey, enhancing links to Asia and Africa.
The agreements, formalized at Fitur 2025, reinforce the SkyTeam alliance, improving connectivity and service quality. SAS will code-share Air Europa flights to key Spanish and Portuguese cities, while Air Europa will place its code on SAS routes between Madrid and major Scandinavian hubs, ensuring seamless travel across Europe and beyond.
