Scam of companies offering E-ticket for US$79.00
Travelers are alerting once again that there is a scam of companies that offer E-tickets for a charge of US$79.00 on your credit card. Be aware, this is a fraud. The form and the online filing are free.
This is the only valid and correct link: https://eticket.migracion.gob.do/
The form must be filled out by all passengers, whether Dominican or foreign, entering or leaving the Dominican Republic. For each entry and exit a new E Ticket is required and the QR-code generated upon form completion must be presented at the airport on a digital device.
If you are traveling as a family, you must fill out only one form, indicating the data of all the family members who will be traveling with you.
It is mandatory for each passenger to truthfully complete the information on the electronic Ticket for the General Immigration Office, the General Customs Office, and the Ministry of Public Health, according to Dominican laws 285-04, 115-17, 72-02 and 226-06.
These $79 people have no scruples.
It is usually the community, the poor, ignorant, and seniors having no access or knowledge of intelligent systems to become victims of the technology in order to do everything, including the ordinary. There has to be balance that makes the customs/immigration process through the airports for these passengers less stressful and less painless. Working WiFI systems able to support large volumes of traffic or paper substitutes have to be available.
Why can they delete the scam companies from the website ?
This happened to us! We were misguided and we were going to miss out flight to the DR. We contacted our Capital One credit card and they won’t give us our money back! We have excellent credit! Any ideas on what to do? Infuriating!
Have they scammed you for more money?
We were scammed on this as well. There are MANY fake websites and only one official website. The e-ticket is FREE for both entering the Dominican Republic and leaving. If the website asks for your credit card #, get out. It is a scam
They almost got me. Filled out the information including my passport # then it asked for a payment. I stopped and searched to see if they have started requiring a payment for the eticket and realized it was a scam. They still managed to get my email, USA addresss, and passport # but luckily no CC information. Scary that they got as much as they did.
fk they got me too! did not enter the cc info
