“Alofoke Prudential” showcases Dominican talent in a night of unity and celebration
New Jersey.- The Prudential Center in Newark came alive Wednesday night as thousands of fans, many waving Dominican flags, gathered to celebrate the “Alofoke Prudential” show—an event showcasing the best of Latin music and talent. Organized by Santiago Matías (Alofoke), the concert was the result of over eight months of planning and a $700,000 investment, which Matías described as a night of achievement and unity.
The evening kicked off with a glamorous red carpet, featuring artists, influencers, and public figures in a dazzling display of fashion and style. The show began with a lively performance by Vakeró, who energized the crowd with his greatest hits, followed by El Mayor Clásico. Lomiiel, Papera, and Donaty kept the excitement high with a set that included their hit “Que Linda,” recorded in the Alofoke Radio Show studio.
Dominican artist Jey One surprised fans by bringing American rapper Offset on stage. Other performances included Toño Rosario, Candy Flow, and comedic duo Raymond and Miguel, who brought humor and energy before the night’s headliners: La Perversa and Yailin La Más Viral. La Perversa, glowing in her pregnancy, captivated the audience with her spirited performance, while Yailin received mixed reviews, with some fans speculating her set might have been “sabotaged.”
The night ended on a high note with Eladio Carrión performing his hit “Thunder and Lightning,” and Yiyo Sarante closing out with three songs that left the audience wanting more. Combining genres like merengue, salsa, and dembow, “Alofoke Prudential” was a celebration of Dominican culture and a major success, shining a spotlight on the Dominican Republic in the Latin music scene.
