UN calls for renewed efforts to establish peace and hold elections in Haiti

Port-au-Prince.- The United Nations Office in Haiti (BINUH) has urged the country’s political actors to intensify efforts toward restoring social peace and organizing long-overdue elections. Haiti, currently mired in a severe crisis, faces widespread violence, particularly in and around Port-au-Prince, where political stability is crucial to improving the nation’s dire situation.

BINUH praised the ongoing efforts of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and other mediators supporting Haiti and called on all parties to work toward a transitional solution that aligns with the aspirations and needs of the Haitian people. The office reiterated its commitment to supporting initiatives that rebuild public trust in Haitian authorities.

The call for stability comes as Haiti experiences a temporary calm following the police killing of Kendy, alias “Jeff Mafia,” the second-in-command of a major criminal gang led by former police officer Jimmy Cherisier, known as “Barbecue.” In retaliation, gangs spread terror on Sunday, setting homes ablaze and firing weapons in parts of the capital. This violence follows two recent massacres that left over 200 dead, highlighting the gangs’ control of more than 80% of Port-au-Prince and its surroundings, while police and UN forces struggle with limited resources to restore order.

Talk, talk, talk, there is plenty of that.

There needs to be more foreign troops, at least 10,000, and not Dominican, to really bring order to the country. Anything less than that amount is like putting a band-aid over a bullet wound.

BBQ needs to be BBQ’d

Haiti needs a smart white king to rule over them. Or just return back to their motherland. Some tribes are not meant to live on the western wirld.

It needs the equivalent of the IDF to go in and clear out all the gangs and the weapons. Soft pedaling with Haitian Police and a few UN-backed police force members will only prolong the situation ad infinitum.

The Dominican Republic has been shaken this week by atrocious crimes committed by illegal Haitians in the Dominican Republic that should draw the attention of the government and the country. The rape of a girl in San Francisco de Macorís filmed by a group of Haitians while they were committing their horrendous crime; the decapitation of a landowner in San José de las Matas by a Haitian who worked with him, were events that added to the aggression with shots and clubs against military personnel and immigration agents in the National District. The sad reality is that the country is becoming progressively Haitianized. They are taking over our maternity wards, schools, jobs, and motorcycle taxis, and this invasion brings with it a trail of violent culture and savagery never seen before in the Dominican Republic. For whatever reason, it is a reality that Haitians feel that the Dominican authorities have orders not to touch them, no matter what they do, for fear of international blackmail that would result from the legitimate response of the authorities if they repress horrendous crimes and violent rebellion against law enforcement agents. There is a great risk that Trujillo will be vindicated by history if we do not apply the weight of the law and impose respect for authority, in the face of the massive Haitian invasion that is becoming more dangerous every day from all points of view. To my friend, President Abinader, I reiterate the urgency of action. I am aware that the Haitian problem comes from afar, that this administration inherited it, but it has worsened in recent years due to the collapse of Haiti and is exploding in the hands of this government. It is President Abinader who is in charge at this very delicate historical juncture, and it is he, as Head of State, who has the enormous responsibility of defending this nation above all other purposes. The international geopolitical situation starting on January 20 with the arrival of Donald Trump to the White House could be very favorable for the country to take drastic measures on the issue of migration and the invasion of Haitian wombs. Trump is going to deport thousands of illegal Dominicans in the US. No one internationally will be able to question us for doing the same with the Haitians who are invading us en masse. The PRM as the official party must reflect on the issue. The people gave them all the power at the polls this year. They can approve national defense laws and leave a lasting legacy over time on this fundamental issue. If they don’t do it, the same people who supported them will hold them accountable in 2028.
