Fernando Villalona honored by Dominican Consulate in New Jersey

New Jersey.- The Dominican Consulate in New Jersey, led by Consul General José Santana, has honored Fernando Villalona for his outstanding career in Dominican popular music. Recognized as a cultural ambassador, Villalona’s contributions have helped spread Dominican identity worldwide.

During the ceremony, Consul Santana emphasized the importance of celebrating artists like Villalona, whose dedication and talent inspire new generations. Villalona, in turn, expressed gratitude for the tribute, highlighting the crucial support of the Dominican diaspora in New Jersey in his musical journey.

The ceremony, held at Paterson Cathedral, featured a blessing by Father Estarli Castaño and a biography reading by José Bonilla, Director of the Cultural Office in New Jersey. The consulate reaffirmed its commitment to honoring Dominicans excelling in arts, sports, politics, and education, strengthening the country’s cultural legacy abroad.
