Dominican authorities receive deported criminal “Guindo” from U.S.

Santo Domingo.- Dominican authorities have taken custody of Ángel David Medina Paredes, alias “Guindo,” a high-risk criminal deported from the United States following extensive investigations, surveillance, and international coordination.

Upon arrival in the Dominican Republic, “Guindo” was immediately transferred under heavy security to the Najayo-Men’s Correction and Rehabilitation Center in San Cristóbal. He is accused of multiple serious crimes, including homicide, drug and arms trafficking, armed robbery, and criminal association. Authorities also link him to the killing of Jony Oscar Charles Juan, known as “La Pluma.”

The operation was executed through a joint effort involving the Attorney General’s Office—specifically its departments of International Legal Cooperation, Repatriation, and Human Rights—as well as the Directorate of Immigration, DINTEL, SWAT units, and DICRIM’s Fugitives Division, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Román Contreras.
