Abinader strengthens air security with TP-75 Dulus Aircraft
Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader visited the San Isidro Air Base to supervise the assembly of the TP-75 Dulus, a locally manufactured aircraft aimed at strengthening the Dominican Air Force. He praised the project as a technological milestone, with ten aircraft expected by December. Five are already completed, and two are patrolling the country’s borders.
The TP-75 Dulus, designed for training and patrol missions, is based on the Tucano Replica 915iS and symbolizes national pride by bearing the name of the Dominican national bird. The initiative also promotes technological sovereignty, skilled workforce development, and future international collaboration.
Abinader also reviewed improvements to the base’s main runway and control tower. These upgrades, totaling over RD$825 million in investment, enhance air safety and position the base as a modern alternate airport. The president emphasized the importance of these advancements for national defense and tourism, which sees over 12 million visitors annually.
