INFOTEP graduates 44 new park rangers in Puerto Plata

Puerto Plata.- The National Institute for Technical and Professional Training (INFOTEP) graduated 44 new park rangers in Puerto Plata, equipping them with training in environmental law, ecology, biodiversity, and protected area management. The program strengthens INFOTEP’s role in sustainable development by preparing professionals dedicated to safeguarding the Dominican Republic’s natural heritage.

The Basic Park Ranger Course was designed in collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment to meet conservation needs. Graduates will be deployed in key areas such as Cabarete and Goleta Lagoons, the Estero Hondo Marine Mammal Sanctuary, Isabel de Torres Hill, Damajagua Falls, and other protected sites. Their mission, INFOTEP noted, is to act as guardians of biodiversity and ambassadors of sustainable tourism. The efforts of instructors and coordinators who guided the training process were also recognized.
