Fuel tanker crash sparks fire on Santo Domingo Ring Road

Santo Domingo.- A fuel tanker truck crashed Monday on the Santo Domingo Ring Road near the Yamasá Highway heading east, causing a fire that required emergency response.

The tanker driver, Marino Ramírez, and another truck driver, Ángel Peña Pérez, were injured and taken to a hospital for treatment.

Due to the intensity of the blaze, a specialized firefighting truck from Las Américas International Airport (AILA) was dispatched to assist in controlling the fire and preventing it from spreading to nearby areas. Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the accident or the amount of fuel spilled, and investigations are ongoing.
