Santo Domingo.- The U.S. Embassy in the Dominican Republic issued a warning about fake visas being promoted on social media platforms such as TikTok, stressing that these documents are fraudulent and cannot be used to enter the United States. The embassy noted that criminal groups and coyotes are behind these schemes, which constitute a serious crime for anyone attempting to use them.

In a message shared on its official Instagram account, the embassy reminded that using falsified documents can lead to denial of entry, legal proceedings, and criminal penalties. It urged the public to rely only on official sources, such as the Department of State website and the embassy’s platforms, for accurate visa information and applications.

The mission also called on citizens to avoid falling for scams and to report fraudulent offers related to visas. By reinforcing this message, the U.S. Embassy emphasized its commitment to fighting immigration fraud and guiding people who wish to travel legally, making clear that no irregular method guarantees access to U.S. territory.
