Rainy weekend in the Dominican Republic: Showers and winds affect several provinces

The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) forecast that for this Saturday,  the humidity brought by the passage of the tropical wave through Dominican territory, in addition to a trough at different levels of the troposphere, both will favor cloudy increases generating moderate to heavy showers with thunderstorms and wind gusts towards the northeast, southeast, the Central Mountain Range and the border area, especially during the afternoon hours.

The most affected areas will be Hato Mayor, El Seibo, Monte Plata, Santo Domingo, San Pedro de Macorís, La Vega, Santiago, Dajabón, Santiago Rodríguez, Valverde, San Juan, and other surrounding provinces until the early evening.

The agency reported that for Sunday, the upper-level trough, in addition to local effects and easterly/southeasterly winds, will favor cloudy conditions leading to locally moderate to heavy showers, thunderstorms, and gusty winds during the afternoon, toward provinces in the northeast, southeast, the Central Mountain Range, and the border area.
