Caribe Tours bus crashes into Santo Domingo Metro station entrance, one injured

Santo Domingo.- The Office for Transportation Reorganization (OPRET) reported that on Friday night, September 26, at 9:04 p.m., a Caribe Tours bus crashed into the entrance of the Pedro Francisco Bonó station on Line 2 of the Santo Domingo Metro. The incident occurred at the busy intersection of John F. Kennedy Avenue and Núñez de Cáceres Avenue.

Authorities confirmed that one OPRET employee was injured in the accident and is currently under medical evaluation. The institution indicated that updates on her condition will be shared once a formal diagnosis is available.

As a safety measure, train service at Pedro Francisco Bonó station was temporarily suspended while technicians and security teams assess potential structural damage. OPRET reiterated its commitment to passenger and staff safety, thanked the public for their understanding, and assured that service will resume as soon as the station is confirmed to be in safe operating condition.
