Santo Domingo.- Authorities from the Ministry of Housing and Buildings (MIVED) carried out a surprise inspection this Monday at the Suplax store, finding it operating illegally despite having been officially closed weeks earlier. The raid followed a report by N Digital, which revealed that the establishment continued selling products in violation of the closure order.
When inspectors arrived, they found dozens of employees and customers inside conducting transactions. Panic ensued as people fled the premises, some carrying merchandise, while others hurried to shut the back door in an attempt to conceal operations.
MIVED officials stated that Suplax will face tougher penalties for defying the closure order and breaching building and business regulations. The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing compliance nationwide and warned that reopening closed establishments without authorization is a serious offense that will be met with strict legal action.
