COE warns of continued rainfall and flood risks until Thursday
Santo Domingo.- Juan Manuel Méndez-Gracia, director of the Emergency Operations Center (COE), warned on Tuesday that heavy rainfall is expected to continue until Thursday, according to the National Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET). He urged the public to maintain contingency plans, particularly in provinces under red and yellow alerts.
Méndez highlighted that saturated soil increases the risk of landslides and flash floods in both urban and rural areas. He stressed the importance of remaining vigilant and prepared, even if temporary improvements in weather are observed, to ensure the protection of lives and property.
