Son of Police Spokesperson dies in traffic accident in La Romana

La Romana.- A 20-year-old man, identified as Brayan Joel López, lost his life early Thursday morning in a traffic accident on Alberto Caamaño Avenue in La Romana. López was the son of Raisa Núñez, spokesperson for the National Police in that province.

According to preliminary reports, the vehicle López was traveling in slid off the road and fell into a ravine, apparently due to speeding, as stated by medical examiner Benito Kelly. Three other passengers sustained injuries and were taken to a hospital by Emergency System 9-1-1 personnel.

Members of the Fire Department, National Police, and other authorities responded to the scene to recover the body and remove the vehicle from the crash site.
