The detail Melba Grullón discovered about her daughter Alexandra, victim of the Jet Set tragedy

Santo Domingo.- “How can I think I’m alone, when you’re always with me, everywhere and all the time?” With these words, Melba Grullón dedicated a heartfelt message to her daughter Alexandra, one of the more than 230 victims of the Jet Set nightclub collapse on April 8. Grullón expressed that, despite her physical absence, she finds reasons every day to feel her presence and to thank God for the 26 years they shared.

The philanthropist also recounted that, in her home, Alexandra’s loving gestures are still felt, such as the small bottles of water she would leave prepared especially for her mother, a detail she says she only recently learned about, but which today represents yet another example of the silent and constant affection that accompanied her.

Upon arriving at her office, she says, the memory of her daughter remains among colleagues and collaborators, who still recall her ability to make quick decisions and solve everyday challenges, as well as her sensitivity to help others.

The legacy that continues

One of the most significant pillars honoring Alexandra’s memory is the ALE Scholarship Fund, which supports underprivileged youth. Grullón highlighted that, currently, 21 university students and nine high school students, several of whom were affected by the April 8 tragedy, are continuing their studies thanks to this initiative”

“Your mission to touch the lives of others will always continue with me,” she said, announcing that for the first time a joint publication was made between his networks and those of the Fund, as a prelude to the launch of the second call for scholarships for students who will enter university in January.

Faith, love, and gratitude

At the end of her message, Grullón shared that she ends each day in prayer, accompanied by a tear, offered in the name of her daughter, her husband, Eduardo Guarionex, her son, Eduardo, and Jhoanna. “I thank God for the good and wonderful children with whom our Creator blessed me,” she expressed.

Grullón concluded with the Bible verse that sustains her spiritual strength:

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Philippians 4:13

What happened is very tragic, sad, and inexcusable. Alexandra RIP

Note: there is a tourism business in El Cortecito, Punta Cana. It is “El Galeón del Pirata”.  Its building is on the verge of collapse according to the news outlet Bavarodigital. Authorities have not stepped in. Is there going to be a repeat tragedy?
