Cap Cana fetes Punta Espada links’ 11 years a la safari
Cap Cana, Dominican Republic.- Cap Cana celebrated the 11th anniversary of the famous Punta Espada golf course over the weekend safari style, as part of the fifth annual Cap Cana Golf Cup.
“The tournament offers a unique experience for golfers and their companions and as each year will raise funds for the Forging a Future Foundation.
Cap Cana’s unrivaled landscape makes it a one-off destination, which allows recreating expeditions to appreciate nature.
During play the golfers enjoyed exceptional attention were able to observe in their natural habitat the flocks of brown pelicans in hole three, the rhinoceros iguana in the 9th hole and many other species of birds including the imposing hawk Hispaniola Gavilan
Cap Cana CEO Dr. Ricardo Hazoury, accompanied by Punta Espada director Efrén García-Estrada, and Forging a Future Foundation president Pamela Freixas de Betances, welcomed players at Punta Espada golf club restaurant Bella View.
Tournament winners:
Cesar Rodríguez and Wascar Jorge, best overall gross score; first place Category A Edilio Flores and Angel Sartorius; second place James Hunt and James Anderson; and third place Kevin and Enrique Rodríguez.
Category B first place winners Elijah Pichardo and Simón Fernández; second place Alberto Flores and Clifton Ramírez; third place Sebastiano Di Bari and Juan García; Category C first place winners Rafael Álvarez and Gregorio Martínez; second place Luis Moreno and Luis Francis; third place Javier Donoso and Juan Moreno.
An additional treat of the fundraiser tournament was the photo exhibit “Capturing Images for a Cause” by photographers Thiago Da Cuna, Roger Zayas Bazán and Jochi Marichal, showcasing 10 pictures each, all inspired by Cap Cana’s natural beauty.
The grand anniversary and awards gala was held at the Scape Park in Juanillo beach club, setting for an unforgettable night, fun and dancing to the rhythm of drums, that made every guest vibrate.
