Immigration deported 110,030 foreigners from 33 countries in 2017

Santo Domingo.- . The Immigration Agency on Thurs. said it issued 16,406 residences of various categories during 2017, and repatriated 110,030 foreigners from 33 countries.

“The process to renew or change of migratory category of foreigners under the National Regularization Plan (PNRE), and those benefited by Law 169-14, 4,311 permits have been issued, of which 3,547 are Temporary Residence and 770 Permanent Residence, from the beginning of the first stage in October of last year,” said Immigration director, Máximo William Muñoz in a statement.

He said all the necessary actions to control the entry and exit of foreigners to Dominican territory he will be enacted during this year. “During this period hundreds of immigration were interdicted in operations conducted nationwide, where foreigners were detained, of which 57,996 were deported.
