Foreign Minister, Bernstein talk UN Security Council, investments

Santo Domingo.- Foreign minister Miguel Vargas, and US ambassador, Robin S. Bernstein, met Monday and reviewed the bilateral agenda to bolster ties.

They addressed issues such as security, trade, investment, among others, with an emphasis on the UN Security Council, where the Dominican Republic will enter in January 2019, as a non-permanent member State for the first time.

“The Dominican Republic has a broad agenda for the preservation of peace and security in the world, and in that sense we are gathering the most support possible to make it operational,” Vargas said.

They also addressed the interest shown by several US entrepreneurs in investing in the Caribbean country.
