Govt. announces tender for Santo Domingo’s 2nd cable car line

Santo Domingo.- The government on Thurs. announced a tender to design, build, assemble and launch Santo Domingo’s second cable car line, which will span around five kilometer to the Los Alcarrizos subdivision, north of the capital.
The govt. agency La Barquita barrio development unit (Urbe) said the tender complies with Public Procurement and Contracting provisions for which interested parties must register as govt. suppliers.
It calls on all cable systems manufacturers for mass transit of passengers to submit a participation proposal in the contracting process.
In a statement, Urbe says the system, which must be capable of mobilizing at least 6,000 passengers per hour, includes, supply, civil engineering works, electrical works, electromechanical assembly, and passenger stations.
“Those interested should formalize their registration process by submitting a letter of expression of interest sent to URBE, Monday through Friday from 9am to 4pm or by email until March 25.”
