Medina cuts ribbon on ‘most modern’ Santo Domingo Heliport

Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina on Friday cut the ribbon for the Santo Domingo Heliport, built at a cost of RD$45,108 , on the seaside Malecon with Núñez de Cáceres Av. in the Capital.

Airports Department director Marino Collante labeled the facility as the most modern heliport in the Caribbean, Central and South America.

The structure’s environmental design features a grass-covered roof, “which makes it an environment-friendly infrastructure.”

He said the terminal will provide all operational and administrative facilities, in accordance with national and global regulations.

The heliport’s helipads can handle three landing and take-offs simultaneously and five long-term helicopter parking positions.
