Union’s electric taxi fleet to charge 30% less

Santo Domingo.- National Transport Union (CNTU) leader Williams Pérez Figuereo on Thurs. launched a fleet of electric vehicles that provide taxi services at 30% lower for riders.

“The incursion of electric units will bring about a price reduction of the cost of about thirty percent to those who use this form of mobility and will bring, when the use of these cars becomes massive, a reduction in operating costs for drivers, also with a friendly impact for the environment,” the labor leader said.

Pérez, who made the announcement at a supermarket west of Santo Domingo, added that among their objectives electric taxis aim to help Dominican homes economize.
