Canadians are shown Dominican Republic’s business opportunities

Santo Domingo.- Foreign minister Miguel Vargas on Tues. met with Canada ambassador, Shauna Hemingway, and 17 executives from as many Canadian companies established in the Dominican Republic, to discuss Dominican Republic’s business climate and investment opportunities.

“This meeting with you we consider it as an opportunity to listen to your concerns, recommendations and know your expansion plans or new investments in our country,” said the official during the talks held at the Foreign Ministry.

He said he’s confident that once the Joint Work Group to Promote Trade and Bilateral Investment is formed, the responsibility of boosting bilateral relations will be assumed, “in particular, achieving more Canadian investment that contributes to transfer technology and create jobs so that Canadian companies also benefit.”
