Santo Domingo.- Internal Taxes director, Magín Díaz, on Thurs. said that at the end of July, collections jumped over 10%, or RD$288.0 illion (US$5.6 billion), “which reflects that the measures against evasion and fraud are yielding results.”

After a mass to mark the DGII’s 22nd anniversary, Díaz noted that collections in 2018 were RD$430.5 billion and this year the goal is RD$490.0 billion, “a very ambitious goal.”

He stressed that collections are outpacing economic activities.

“With great satisfaction we can say that, at the end of this month of July, we are fulfilling almost 100% of the accumulated goal for these first seven months of the year.”
