More than 300 agents to bolster security in the Colonial Zone

Santo Domingo.- Interior and Police minister Jose Ramon Fadul headed the start of a comprehensive security plan for the Colonial Zone, with the participation of the Tourism Police, the National Police, Metropolitan Transit Authority (Amet) and the city’s Municipal Police.

He said the National Police will head the plan, with more than 300 agents and officers to provide strict security in the capital’s top tourist attraction.

As part of the security strategy, Fadul said Taiwan’s Ambassador Thomas Ping-Fu Hou on Thursday donated 30 scrambler type motorcycles and 51 two-way radios worth US$100,000.
