US Treasury to help Dominicans fight tax fraud

Santo Domingo.- The US Treasury Department’s Office for Technical Assistance (OTA) will bolster its cooperation with the Internal Taxes Directorate (DGII), provided by Washington to fight tax evasion and fraud in the Dominican Republic.

DGII director Magín Díaz and OTA Revenue Consultancy Program associate director Bill Remington met at the agency Tues. to discuss progress and devise the next steps in the strategy to fight tax crimes.

As a result of this meeting, Remington said the OTA will start planning the areas of assistance for 2019, while Diaz requested help in the area of ​​technology, on the needto continue improving all systems and controls.

The OTA director recommended that the DGII provide follow up to the results so that the indicators challenge the collaborators to work with the utmost efficiency.
