This donation is expected to significantly improve the health conditions of the patients, who are currently in critical condition and undergoing intensive care at the Dr. Arturo Grullón Regional Children’s Hospital in Santiago.

The management of this donation was facilitated by the Ministry of Public Health, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX), the National Health Service (SNS), the National Institute for Transplant Coordination (INCORT), and the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Mexico.

Coordination efforts were made with the Mexican Ministry of Health and the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks, as well as the Authorization Commission of Mexico.

The Freeze-Dried Tissues were transported on Friday by Aeroméxico, under the supervision of Minister Counselor Orlando Rodríguez. They were received by Dr. Manuel Lora, the Regional Director of Norcentral Health, and authorities from the aforementioned healthcare facility.

These freeze-dried tissues serve as temporary wound covers for burns, diabetic ulcers, varicose ulcers, decubitus ulcers, leprosy, and other conditions.
