‘Fast-track lanes at tolls speed up traffic efficiently’ says RD Vial

Santo Domingo.- The RD Vial Trust has reported a significant improvement in traffic flow on the country’s main highways, attributing it to the implementation of new exclusive Fast Pass lanes.

As families embark on journeys for the Easter holiday, they will notice a considerable difference when passing through tolls on major highways compared to the same period last year, thanks to the introduction of these new Fast Pass lanes.

Since April 2023, the RD Vial Trust has installed six exclusive lanes at the Las Américas toll plaza, and 16 Fast Pass lanes at four stations along the northeast highway. Additionally, four lanes are dedicated to Fast Pass service at the Duarte Highway toll, while the Santo Domingo Beltway, Sections II and IIB, each have three dedicated lanes.

Expanding the service further, the Coral highway now features additional lanes at stations I and II, ensuring smooth mobility for citizens.

Jean Luis Rodríguez, the general director of RD Vial, reiterated the Trust’s commitment to streamlining traffic flow on major highways through the use of innovative electronic devices for smooth travel. He encouraged drivers to acquire the Fast Pass device to enjoy the agility it offers when passing through tolls.

Rodríguez also emphasized that Fast Pass lanes are clearly marked with signage, located on the left (green) side, followed by lanes for cash payments for light vehicles (blue) and heavy vehicles.

Users have multiple options to check their balance and recharge their Fast Pass device before reaching the toll plaza, including WhatsApp at 829-380-9965, and can also purchase the Fast Pass at toll offices.
