Mike Pompeo joins Jochy Gómez for lecture in Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo.- Former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo participated in a discussion titled “Four Years Later: A Call to the Future,” alongside businessman José Ángel Gómez Canaán (known as Jochy), one of the owners of the company Transcore Latam, at a hotel in Santo Domingo. The event gathered prominent political and civil society figures, including Senate President Ricardo de los Santos.

During the discussion, Jochy Gómez highlighted Pompeo’s support for Transcore Latam’s traffic light operations, managed by the National Institute of Transit and Land Transport (Intrant). He noted Pompeo’s confidence in the company and emphasized the technological collaboration between the United States and the Dominican Republic.

Gómez also spoke about his contributions to national security over the past 12 years, including efforts with the National Police and a contract between his company Auris and the Ministry of Defense to strengthen border security. He defended his reputation against defamation attempts and announced plans to launch a new investigative journalism outlet in October.
