Puntacana Group wins tender for Cabo Rojo tourism project

Santo Domingo.- The Puntacana Group, leading the Cabo Rojo Consortium, has been awarded the contract for the development, operation, and maintenance of the Cabo Rojo tourism project in Pedernales. The group will participate as a minority and strategic partner of the Dominican State.

Sigmund Freund, Executive Director of the Pro-Pedernales Trust, announced the decision, explaining that the selection followed a detailed technical and financial evaluation by the Trust’s Strategic Partner Selection Committee. He emphasized the project’s expected social and economic benefits for the region and the value of the consortium’s expertise in tourism development.

Originally launched in 2022, the Cabo Rojo project involves three phases, including the construction of a port, hydro-sanitary infrastructure, and multiple hotels driven by private investment. With this award, the committee also approved the start of contract negotiations between the consortium and the Dominican government as part of Phase III of the FID-SE-0001 process.
