Dominican Republic to host MISPA VIII Summit on public security

Santo Domingo.- Minister of the Interior and Police, Faride Raful, announced that the Dominican Republic will host the VIII Meeting of Ministers of Public Security of the Americas (MISPA VIII) on July 16 and 17. This major summit will bring together regional leaders to discuss strategies for combating violence, modernizing police forces, and strengthening citizen security.

The event, organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Police, will serve as the primary hemispheric platform for cooperation in public security. Discussions will focus on five key pillars: effective public security management; prevention of crime, violence, and insecurity; police reform and oversight; citizen and community involvement; and enhanced international cooperation.

By addressing these core areas, MISPA VIII aims to reinforce institutional development, regional safety, and a collective culture of peace across the Americas.
