Dominican Republic: Sunday with a lot of heat and rain

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) announced hot temperatures and high wind chills for this Sunday, due to the presence of Saharan dust, as well as a trough at different levels of the troposphere, in addition to the effects of the easterly wind.
Both factors favor cloudy conditions accompanied by local showers and possible thunderstorms over the following localities during the morning: La Altagracia, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Samaná, San Cristóbal, among others.
Showers, thunderstorms, and isolated gusts of wind will move toward the provinces of Santo Domingo (northern Santo Domingo), Monte Plata, Monseñor Nouel, La Vega, Santiago, San Juan, Azua, Bahoruco, Independencia, Barahona, Elías Piña, and other nearby provinces.
For Greater Santo Domingo, the minimum temperature is expected to be between 21°C and 23°C, and the maximum between 33°C and 35°C.
Recommendations
Indomet recommends drinking plenty of water, avoiding direct sunlight without proper protection, wearing lightweight, light-colored clothing, and being aware that children and older adults are more susceptible to high temperatures.
