7th International Health and Wellness Tourism Congress gains strong support in the Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo.- The seventh International Health and Wellness Tourism Congress, scheduled for October 22–23, 2025 at the Marriott Piantini Hotel in Santo Domingo, has received robust support from national and international organizations in the health, tourism, and investment sectors. The event is being organized by the Dominican Association of Health Tourism (ADTS) in partnership with AF Comunicación Estratégica, and it has established itself as a key platform for promoting medical tourism in the Caribbean.
The congress aims to position the Dominican Republic as a reliable, competitive, and evolving destination for health and wellness tourism. Dr. Alejandro Cambiaso, president of ADTS, highlighted the country’s modern hospital infrastructure, international certifications, and safe environment for international patients as evidence of its leadership in the sector.
Amelia Reyes Mora, president of AF Comunicación Estratégica and vice president of ADTS, emphasized the importance of strengthening international accreditations, fostering strategic alliances, and ensuring high-quality experiences for patients as central elements for enhancing the country’s brand as a medical tourism hub.
In its previous editions, the congress brought together more than 800 participants and featured around 70 exhibitors from countries including Canada, the United States, India, Mexico, Argentina, Spain, and several Caribbean nations. The event also received support from over 110 sponsors, including hospitals, insurance companies, banks, resorts, and technology providers.
The congress is endorsed by key institutions such as the American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic (AMCHAMDR), the Association of Hotels and Tourism (Asonahores), PUCMM, the Dominican Institute for Quality (Indocal), and the Superintendence of the Securities Market (SIMV).
