Dominican Republic condemns attack on Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa’s convoy

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic condemned the attack on a convoy carrying Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa and expressed solidarity with the people of Ecuador.

Through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Dominican government stated on social media that it “condemns all acts of violence that threaten peace and democracy,” reaffirming support for the South American nation following the incident.

The attack occurred Tuesday afternoon in the province of Cañar, where Noboa was traveling for official activities. His vehicle was reportedly struck by bullets and stones while en route to an event in El Tambo. The president was unharmed and continued his schedule. Ecuador’s Minister of Environment and Energy, Inés Manzano, later filed a complaint for attempted assassination, noting that the presidential vehicle was hit by gunfire, although this was not clearly visible in the official images.
