Shooting during Storm Melissa leaves six injured in Hainamosa

Santo Domingo.- The National Police reported on Friday that it is activating the search for a known antisocial individual identified as the alleged perpetrator of gunshot wounds to six people during a social conflict that occurred at an illegal party on the night of Wednesday, October 23, in the midst of Tropical Storm Melissa in the Los Pinos sector of Hainamosa, Santo Domingo Este municipality.

The suspect is Hancer Manuel Lantigua Pérez (a.k.a. “La Bolanta” and/or El Gatillero), who committed the crime using an illegally carried firearm.

The injured were identified as Rosa Arelis Tejada Tavárez (40), Amanda María Peña Carvajal (28), Perla Maciel Calderón Ramírez (24), Jesús Manuel Gómez López (27), Sixto Lorenzo Batista Espinal (a) Tuti (38), and Ricauy Lebrón Montero (38), all with gunshot wounds to different parts of their bodies.

According to the preliminary report, the incident occurred at night during an illegal party known as a “teteo,” held in the middle of the street as heavy rain from Storm Melissa fell.

In the middle of the event, an argument broke out between several of those present, which culminated when “La Bolanta” fired several shots with a firearm, hitting six people.

Six 9-millimeter shell casings and two bullets were collected at the scene, which the Scientific Police are analyzing as part of the evidence collected.

The Central Directorate of Investigation (Dicrim), under the coordination of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, is continuing its investigation to establish the exact circumstances of the incident and locate those responsible, who are currently at large.

The National Police reiterates its call for “La Bolanta” to turn himself in through the appropriate channels and answer for the charges against him.
