Carolina Mejía and Jorge Macri sign cooperation agreement between Santo Domingo and Buenos Aires
Buenos Aires, Argentina.- The mayor of the National District, Carolina Mejía, and the head of government of Buenos Aires, Jorge Macri, signed a cooperation agreement aimed at enhancing institutional management and promoting sustainable urban development through the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and best practices.
The signing, held at the Government House in Buenos Aires, reaffirmed the friendship between both capitals, which began in 1991 with their first twinning agreement. Mejía emphasized that this new pact will foster initiatives that directly benefit citizens by advancing urban safety, technological innovation, local economic growth, tourism, environmental sustainability, and inclusive social policies.
The four-year agreement includes plans for technical exchanges, training programs, workshops, and joint projects, as well as coordinated participation in international city forums. The signing took place during Mejía’s visit to Buenos Aires for the 21st General Assembly of the Union of Ibero-American Capital Cities (UCCI) and the 56th Executive Committee meeting.
