Dominican customs officials honored in New York

New York.- In a formal ceremony at the New York State Assembly, Dominican customs officials Raquel Elías Soriano Abreu and Ángel Alberto Encarnación were honored with proclamations recognizing their professional dedication and contributions to Dominican–U.S. relations. The event was led by Dominican-American assembly members George Álvarez, Karines Reyes, and Manny De los Santos, who praised the honorees for their excellence in public service and commitment to international cooperation.

Raquel Elías, Customs Intelligence Manager at the Directorate General of Customs (DGA), was recognized for modernizing and improving customs operations in the Dominican Republic. Ángel Encarnación, the DGA’s Deputy Director of Operations, was honored for his leadership in legal and administrative roles, including prior service in private law firms.
